PROBLEM

When do the dynamic relationships between form, function and material become complementary to create a coherent engaging interactive object?

How could we reverse the sacrifice of energy efficiency for aesthetics, as in the decorative incandescent filament light bulbs?

INTERVENTION

A hand crafted and hand blown  glass lamp that can hold a cup of coffee/tea keeping it warm as it makes use of the waste heat filament light bulb, that it encases.

At a time when making, craft, prototyping and micro-manufacturing are woven back into the fabric of the capital cities. YALOS is an embodiment of this transition; a product that I conceived, glassblew and crafted in the city of London.
