PROBLEM

In an age where making physical objects 'talk', 'see' and interact is becoming more and more accessible, what could be the implication of creating large scale physical interactive gaming environments on prototypes of behaviour? How does it change the gamers relationship towards violence?

INTERVENTION

Gaming to Life creates a social intervention by translating a Gaming interface into a real time live interactive space where the gamers are invited to play by controlling the space and the people that occupy it. In this translation the impact of the interaction between gamer, fighters and game environment reveals the capacity of interactive design to create a dialogue with the audience and influence prototypes of gaming behaviour.

We re-created a well known Fighting arcade game of "Street Fighter" into a physical environment, where fighters are live in a full size fighting ring and controlled by the audience. The temporary interactive environment was installed and run for a full day in Thorpe Park.
